You know what I’ve had stuck in my head ever since I woke up this morning? The Stick Stickly song. “Write to me, Stick Stickly, P.O. Box 963. New York City, New York State, 10108!” Anyone else remember our good popsicle stick friend from the early 90′s? I miss Nickelodean man. Jess found this wiki about all the old Nick shows, and it’s made me a little nostalgic. I also saw some old ‘Doug’ cartoons the other night at like 2am. I guess what all this is leading up to is that I miss being a kid. Well…I do and I don’t.
For one, I still get excited over toys at Target, and if you give me a candy bar…well then you’ve just made my day. So for all intensive purposes, I’m still a kid. Just a bigger one. But for…two, being a kid was just so simple and easy! Around this time of the year, I really start to miss it when elementary schools would start to put up decorations for Halloween. Paper skeletons, candy corn, pumpkin shaped erasers. I miss that.
So what else happened this weekend…? Well Jess and I went and saw ‘The Prestige’ this weekend, and though it has gotten some mixed reviews…it was pretty damn good. We pigged out on Chinese, and I played some more WoW. Level 23, what up?! Ha. My procrastination has gotten pretty bad though. I’m just really hating this damn Egyptian Art class. Last week we had to go to the Library to learn…how to use the Library. Seriously. And even though, I’m the only senior in this class full of Graduate students, apparently our teacher thought none of us knew how to use…the Library. And then to top it off, we had to take…a Library test! Are my frustrations getting through here? We get our midterms back today, and I just forsee bad things. I’m going to have to work my ass off to pass this class, and in my last quarter at SCAD, I just really have no more motivation to do pointless busy work.
I love ‘Batman Begins.’ I’m watching it right now as I get ready for class.
Ok, well that’s it for now. Say a few hail mary’s for me, and if you could…a tribal dance couldn’t hurt. I really hope I passed that damn midterm. Talk to you all soon!
