"It's super MACHO!"

The Book of Life

So what’s next after “Free Birds”? This beautiful movie called “The Book of Life” that I can’t tell you anything about. Business as usual!

I’ll post more as October gets closer and the publicity machine ramps up, but in the meantime check out this gorgeous concept art our Art Department has done for the film.

THE BOOK OF LIFE

THE BOOK OF LIFE

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this one, and so is everyone else at Reel FX! Check out what they posted to their blog.

Reel FX is extremely excited that the concept art for our next feature film THE BOOK OF LIFE is now available for all to see. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news in an article with our Director Jorge Gutierrez. Describing the artwork of the film Gutierrez stated “The mandate of this movie was: Our ‘Art of’ book is going to look exactly like the movie. And every artist poured their heart and soul into that idea.”

THE BOOK OF LIFE from 20th Century Fox Animation and Reel FX Animation Studios is produced by Guillermo del Toro. The film hits theaters October 17th, 2014. The film is set against the Mexican holiday of “Day of the Dead” and tells the story of a young man named Manolo who is torn between the life he wants (as a musician) and what his family wants him to do. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, THE BOOK OF LIFE encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.
The film stars Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Ron Perlman, Danny Trejo, Ice Cube, Christina Applegate and Diego Luna among others. See the casting announcement here.
