"It's 110 degrees, and I'm getting notes to make this snow look colder."

Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas

The Christmas season might just now be getting into high gear for everyone else out there, but in the halls of our studio…it’s been a winter wonderland for a while. Even in the squelching July heat in Texas!

Going into this project, I was honestly more than a little worried that working on a Christmas show for a whole year would ruin one of my favorite holidays.

Getting a look behind the curtain is just one of the hazards of doing what we do for a living. But it was so much fun bringing Scrat and the gang back for the holidays that I’m happy to report I only slightly cringe whenever I hear sleigh bells now!

That’s, of course, my not so clever way of saying that I really loved working on this project. For both artistic and professional reasons too. Not only was it a ton of fun, and not only did my eyes get one hell of a work out just from balancing snow white values from shot to shot, but I also got to work in a more leadership position than before on the Nuke side of things. Which was a fantastic experience all around.

*Que announcer voice!*

“Though don’t just take my word for it, see for yourself on November 24th when it aires on FOX. But…be warned, you’ll probably love it so much that you’ll want to watch it each and every year. So don’t forget to get your blu-ray copy on the 26th from Amazon too!”

Ok, that’s enough of a plug for now. Because in all sincerity I really hope you enjoy the special as much as we did making it.

Merry Christmas!
