heat wave

It’s 95 degrees and I woke up today to my air conditioner pumping out hot air. So I’m writing this post with a cold towel wrapped around neck, and a fan blowing on me at full speed. It’s a pretty funny site, but hey…I’m from the north! I like things to be 75 degrees and overcast. It’s actually hotter inside than outside. Now that’s just messed up. I hope the maintenance guys get here soon. Fingers crossed.

Well since I’m already complaining, lets move on to….cell phone companies. The other week I was waiting for a call from the director but desperately needed to take a shower too. So like the multitasker I am, I took my cell with me and placed it neatly on the counter waiting for it to ring. 15 minutes later, water some how got on the back of it and, you guessed it, it doesn’t work. Then to top it off, this heat wave blew a transformer and the power goes out. Great. I’m in the dark, and wearing a bath robe and a annoyed expression. Luckily though, Jess’s phone didn’t suffer the same fate. So I called up the cingular store who said they were going to be open for another hour. With nothing better to do we got in the car, and after waiting a half an hour for someone to help, we get the one jack ass salesman who tells me because I renewed my contract a few months ago (which I’ve been doing faithfully for over 5 years), a new phone was going to cost me…$274.95. “You’ve got to be kidding. Ok, do you have something cheaper?” “Well our cheapest phone is $115 and has an FM radio” “So it’s basically a piece of crap” “Well I wouldn’t call it a piece of crap” “Ok, then how about a piece of shit…” And back an forth we go. Him trying to make me sign ANOTHER contract, and me just getting more and more irritated. Long story short, Jess and I walked out without a new phone, and just for shits I checked my phone again and yep…it works now. What the hell?! In the end, the heat outside dried it out. Now how’s that for ironic? Anyway’s, I just had to laugh. Someday’s I feel like my life is a sitcom.

Hazaa, the maintenance guys just arrived! Hopefully they can get this fixed, because the cool towel and fan just aren’t working anymore.

Alright, that’s it for now. I can’t wait for Jess to get home. She blew her Matte Painting class away today with her summer to snow matte. I hope now she’ll start to see just how good I always knew she was. We have a big VFX weekend coming up, so wish me luck with the decapitation and crushing of baby chicks. Don’t worry, it’s going to be just as cool as it sounds. Take it easy everyone, and if there is anyone out there who knows how to do a rain dance…put your tap shoes on and get to work! It’s freakin’ hot down here.

p.s. Rox is feeling much better.
