FXGuide has posted the first part in what they’re calling ‘The Labor Series‘. They talk to Dave Rand, Visual Effects Supervisor for ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D‘, and spokesperson for the 100 unpaid artists of the former Meteor Studios.
Listen to this podcast, I can’t stress that enough. Because this is not just a payment issue. It’s an issue about how artists are treated and the state of the visual effects industry as a business. Dave Rand has done a very brave thing by stepping up for the artists. And he deserves our support.
