fink and knoll

StudioDaily.com posted a couple talks with Michael Fink and John Knoll.

I had the privilage of meeting Mr. Fink a few years back while I was at SCAD. He was a very nice guy, and took time out after his lecture to review some of my work. Which needless to say was a thrill. Anyways, he had just gotten off of ‘Constantine‘, and gave a great talk about the history of modern visual effects. This time he talks about the changing role of the Visual Effects Supervisor, and some of the work he did for ‘Golden Compass‘.

Next up to the plate is the one and only…John Knoll. He talks about how the Visual Effects for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest‘ evolved over the course of production.  And what they did to get the data needed while not intruding on the work of the director, cinematographer and actors.

Alright, that’s it for today. I’ve got to finish up this shot before I head off to see (drum roll please)…’The Dark Knight‘! I Can’t wait.
