I think it’s safe to say that we got robbed at the Sidewalk Arts Festival. Our piece definitely should have at least placed in the top 3. But, it didn’t. We think it might have something to do with the politics involved. The night before the festival Jess got a call asking her since she won last year, if she would let them filmed us in time lapse while we drew. She said sure. And we think that might have been our mistake. If we did place, and we just happened to have been filmed through out the contest, that would look pretty sketchy…pardon the pun. But on the bright side we do get a cool DVD of us drawing in time lapse, ha. It’s up on the SCAD site if you want to check it out. Timelapse Video. We had plans on going to Disney World for 4 days and just blowing the prize money ($1000) if we won. But even though we didn’t have it in the bag like we thought we did, I’m going to make us still go. We deserve it damnit!. And plus, I don’t know about Jess, but I need a vacation.
Other than that nothing else has really been going on. Just finishing up my Studio 2 project, and trying to take it easy this quarter. It’s so weird, this quarter is by far the least stressful quarter I’ve ever had here at SCAD, but I’m the more stressed out than ever. I think it has something to do with not getting enough sleep, and just my body generally being out of wack. So I’m on this whole health kick right now. At least 8 hours of sleep a night. Vitamins, fruit, vegetables, exercise. All that good stuff. Hopefully that’ll get my body back in synch and get me feeling better. It’s weird, I’m starting to see the effects of getting older. It really is so easy to get yourself sick with simply not getting enough sleep, being over stressed, and not eating as well as you should. Hopefully I’m learning that lesson for good now.
Alright, well I’m going to go take a shower and just take it easy for the day. I feel like I haven’t done that in forever. Talk to you all soon.
